On the way and arrived

En route

Press En route as you leave for the job. Two things happen:

• The customer gets a text and an email with a link. It opens a map that shows your van moving towards them, and an estimated arrival time.
• Your manager’s board shows the job as On the way.

Your location is shared only between En route and the end of the visit, and only for that job. Nothing is tracked in between jobs or after you press Submit report.

Tip

Press it when you actually set off, not when you plan to. The customer’s estimate counts from that moment, and a van that sits still for twenty minutes looks like a problem.

Arrived

Press Arrived when you’re at the property. The customer’s page changes to “your engineer has arrived”, your position stops updating, and the report opens.

Arrival time goes on the report and the certificate, so press it when you’re there — not from the road, not after you’ve started.

If location isn’t working

The app tells you at the top of the job. Usually the phone’s location permission is off for the app: Settings → PlusHeat Engineer → Location → While using. You can still press En route and Arrived; the customer just won’t see the map move.
